Every August, Vital Vet Animal Hospital takes an entire week to honor veterinary assistants. No matter if they’re in general practice, a specialty facility, or working in farm medicine, assistants are an essential part of every veterinary team. They help in communicating with owners, record keeping, and, most importantly, patient care.

As Fear Free Certified Professionals, our assistants ensure that every pet is comfortable while getting the care they need. They’re trained to recognize signs of anxiety and discomfort, and are equipped with tools and resources to make your pets’ visit as stressfree as possible.
To remain at the forefront of innovative patient care, they’re always growing their skills. They pursue continuing education in communication, preventative care, and various disease processes. This means when you call in worried about your pet, they prioritize empathy, while also knowing exactly what to ask to determine how quickly you should seek veterinary care.
They’re involved in every aspect of your pet’s visit. From the exam room for vaccines, to hospital stays for dental cleanings or surgery, our assistants are right there with your pet - giving yummy snacks and comforting snuggles, while keeping our technicians and veterinarian informed of any changes to their attitude or behavior.
