Vital Vet’s love for pets stretches beyond our hospital walls. In fact, one of the things we love most is connecting with our furry, feathered, and scaled friends (and their dedicated owners!) out in our local community. 

Where we’ve been…

  • “Take a Peake” Job Shadowing
    • Vital Vet hosted high school students across Chesapeake for behind-the-scenes observation! Team member Sarah led students through a day of routine vaccinations, dentistry, surgery, and even the unique requirements of exotic pet care.
  • Life After High School event at Oscar Smith High School
    • Samantha, Sara, and Dani took a field trip to Oscar Smith High School to talk about career opportunities. They shared their personal experiences and passion for animal care to inspire future vet professionals! 
  • Western Branch Intermediate Career Day
    • Holly visited Western Branch Intermediate for Career Day! She amazed students with all the cool things you learn in veterinary medicine – like how many teeth a cat has! (Hint: it’s more than you think).

  • Chesapeake Humane Society Shelter Slumber Pawty 
    • On April 18th, team members Leanne, Holly, and Dr. Kimbrel are spending the night in a shelter to raise funds for pets in need!
    • Join the fun from 4pm to 8pm for the Late Night Block Party and Adoption Hours, then enjoy an outdoor movie at 8:30pm! All at the Chesapeake Humane Society Adoption Center.
